I am Princess Meredith, heir to a throne of faerie. My day job, once upon a time, was as a private detective in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, princess has now become a full-time occupation. My aunt, Queen Andais, will have it no other way. And so I am virtually a prisoner in faerie-trapped here with some of the realm’s most beautiful men to serve as my bodyguards . . . and my lovers. For I am compelled to conceive a child: an heir to succeed me on the throne. Yet after months of amazing sex with my consorts, there is still no baby. And no baby means no throne. The only certainty is death at the hands of my cousin Cel, or his followers, if I fail to conceive. Now Mistral, Queen Andais’s new captain of the guard, has come to my bed-defying her and risking her terrible wrath in doing so. But even she will hesitate to punish him in jealous rage, because our joining has reawakened old magic, mystical power so ancient that no one stands against it and survives. Not even my strongest and most favored: my Darkness and my Killing Frost. Not even Mistral himself, my Storm Lord. But because Mistral has helped to bring this magic forth, he may live another day. If I can reclaim control of the fey power that once was, there may be hope for me and my reign in faerie. I might yet quell the dark schemes and subterfuges surrounding me. Though shadows of obsession and conspiracy gather, I may survive.

  • Kwame Nkrumah: The Father of African Nationalism Paperback – 15 December 1998 by Professor David Birmingham (Author)

The first African statesman to achieve world recognition was Kwame Nkrumah (1909-1972), who became president of the new Republic of Ghana in 1960. He campaigned ceaselessly for African solidarity and for the liberation of southern Africa from white settler rule. His greatest achievement was to win the right of black peoples in Africa to have a vote and to determine their own destiny.

He turned a dream of liberation into a political reality. He was the leader of Ghana who urged Africa to shed the colonial yoke and who inspired black people everywhere to seek their freedom.

This revised edition of Birmingham’s fine and accessible biography chronicles the public accomplishments of this extraordinary leader, who faced some of the century’s most challenging political struggles over colonial transition. African nationalism, and pan-Africanism. It also relates some of the personal trials of a complex individual.

As a student in America in the late 1930s, Nkrumah, shy, disorganized, but ambitious and persistent, earned four degrees in ten years. For political training he then went to England. Nkrumah found writing difficult throughout his lifetime, but once back in his African homeland, with its oral heritage, Nkrumah blossomed as a charming conversationalist, a speechmaker, and eventually a visionary and inspiring leader.

Nkrumah’s crusades were controversial, however, and in the 1960s he gradually lost his heroic stature both among his own people and among his fellow leaders. He lived his last years in exile.

This remarkable life story, which touches on many of the issues facing modern Africa, will open a window of understanding for the general leader as well as for graduate and undergraduate classes.

In this new edition, Birmingham also examines Nkrumah’s exile and provides insight into the image of Nkrumah that has emerged in the light of research recently published.

  • Fictional Fantasies – The exxxtended version: Surrendering to the demands of the hottest stranger you’ve never seen. (English Bad Boys Series Book 1)

Strap yourself in…unless you’d prefer your fantasy man to do it for you?

“Holy crap! Now that was a story! I read it in one sitting, too mesmerised to put down my laptop.”

Depressingly-single, thirty-something Meg Oakley is the loveable girl next door. Secretly an aspiring writer of erotica, she is nowhere near as sexually experienced as her hobby might imply. Recently, she has enjoyed many a racy evening with her practically perfect man, Sam. Handsome, mischievous, unbearably sexy and happy to act out Meg’s every fantasy, Sam has just one flaw. He’s fictional.

Publishing her work under a pseudonym and never sharing her secret, Meg believes she has guaranteed anonymity. That is, until she wakes up one night to find herself blindfolded and restrained by a mystery stranger who has broken into her room. Referring to himself as Sam, he has but one intention; to act out one of the fantasy scenes that Meg has previously published online. The stranger gives her the night of her life, leaving without a besotted Meg having even seen his face.

To her great delight, it turns out that their one amazing night is not a unique experience as the stranger finds numerous opportunities to visit Meg and act out an array of her most secret sexual desires. A potent alpha male, he always takes full control of a blindfolded Meg, so she is unable to identify him. Until one day, much to her amazement and surprise, she discovers who he actually is.
